With just one day left before our camp tournament, we are excited to see the campers’ hard work pay off soon! We started the morning off with partners going over their cases and putting the final touches on their blocks. After finishing up, we started our practice debates on the topic! Campers debated other partnerships within their labs, trying out their new cases and blocks. After these rounds, assistants and instructors gave feedback on what our campers could do to improve in future rounds, so that they could incorporate that feedback into their speeches.

After our first set of practice rounds, we decided to have lunch indoors today, as the field house was unavailable.

After lunch, campers were able to take the feedback they received from their counselors during their practice debates and they incorporated feedback and suggestions into their cases, to perfect them for tomorrow’s tournament. We were so proud to see how motivated our campers were to work on their cases and how focused they were!

We ended the day with a partner bonding activity, where students were able to learn more about their tournament partners and about their similarities. I hope the campers are as excited as we are for tomorrow!
